It seemed like a good idea

January 23rd, 2008  |  Published in Photos

So I signed up to bring some food a few months ago,(Poor Decision 1) and I got the reminder call early in the week. I promptly forgot about it. (Poor Decision 2) It came to be the night before I needed my two trays of breakfast food. I had a few options, namely I could go and buy a few baked goods and place them on a tray and call it good, I elected not to take the sane approach. I decided to go make a few things (PD 3). Now I have several recipes for breakfast goodies that I can make quickly from ingredients on hand and in remarkably little time. I decided to make a few complex things (PD 4) I decided to research the intratubes for some entirely new, made from scratch recipes. (PD 5) Because of the cascading series of poor decisions I had to stay up all night baking goodies. Not how I really planned on spending my Saturday night.
So Tired

I was so tired but I survived- I had cooking to do!

Cafe Du Monde
Thanks my friend coffee, I think the secret to my baking sucess is the chicory. I know some people (like the people at my office) detest the chicory, but I enjoy thinking about sitting in Jackson Square with a café au lait

And the secret to lemon bars, lots of real lemon zest, 6 lemons worth for this batch, boy is my zester tired

lemon zesty
The only good part was that my food was rather tasty, and it made for some funny pictures. and follow the links for the recipes. I really like this food blog as it has good pictures and good food.

Road department closed down this bridge as it was cited by the state as being unsafe. Add a little bit of angry locals being forced to drive well out of their way. What do you get. Well let’s just say my scanner listening ear is tuned to the phase “‘Dukes of Hazzard’ like activity off of Means road North of Gadsden.”

seems like whenever someone in the county moves a house I get to take a picture. What seems like an interesting endeavor invariably ends up being a huge logistics nightmare. the moving crew blocks of the road-all th locals try and find back ways to get home messing up the alternate routes. I end up parking and walking, and walking and walking.
