Grits
How awesome is it that LBC and K-ris have their own grits container- that warrants counter space as well. In my kitchen a food product has to do some major work - or come in the worst packing ever to warrant its own container .( maybe they just really really like grits)
I think I have one for flour, and sugar and oatmeal. I used to have a rice container but now i have too many varieties of rice for it to be practical.
I would have one of Brown, Jasmine, Basmati, long grain, Arborio really- that is just crazy.

Tazed
Tazed on my birthday on purpose. A local police department was going through some training on the new Taz-o-matics. After all the officers had gone through it they asked me if I wanted to give it a try. I said”ok” still not sure why. They didn’t shoot me with the probes, just taped them on me and gave me a zap. I am guessing it is pretty effective. One of the officer’s was making a joke how it was useful if you had a perp who as he put it “wouldn’t give you a hand.” I’m not sure, but I think a little zap zap would aid in my compliance.
In case you wanted to know what it felt like it hurt quite a bit. I will be avoiding situations where this would happen involuntarily
Beergrimage
I have some great friends. On Sunday we made the Birmingham Birthday Beergrimage to “On Tap” in Birmingham. A bit of a novelty to be able to buy a beer on Sunday and have cool obscure beer on tap. Hooray for being 24. Here is the slideshow.
ed. note now parents don’t obsess over the pictures we were fine upstanding citizens and were entirely reasonable with our beer drinking- especially since we ate so much food and had to be über selective on beer choices.
Craziness at the Gadsden Public Library
Teen summer reading program craziness. These kids don’t have any idea how lucky there are to have such awesome programming.
And plus, its usually good for a standlone feature.
This is how much I hate doing dishes
I was out of bowls so I made my oatmeal in a measuring cup. I guess this makes me seem super lazy, but dishes and laundry- I could learn to live with not doing those.
farmer’s market bounty
Two farmer’s markets in two days. Jalapeños, Giant blackberries, New Potatoes, and Corn.
Everything has been good except Andy’s giant bag of corn which has filled with bugs and grossness.
In general hooray for being a yuppy and buying localish
