Fiber Optic
ALex got these amazing fiber optic jobbies- very fun to shoot photos of.
It reminded me of these cool fiber optic flashlight things my grandpa bought us when we were at Disney World during the blizzard of ’93.
Good times, good memories- cold times, cold memories. I wonder where that ‘Goofy’ sweatshirt is( it had the Disney ‘Goofy’ character on it, it wasn’t inherently goofy- but I suppose it could also meet that description out of context)
Sledding III
I nearly had to have a follow up lesson in remedial sledding for the Southerners. Luckily we were able to touch on the topic during the snowman building master-class.

Gadsden Style
This fall, at The Gadsden Times we were tasked with producing a magazine – interestingly enough, we hadn’t produced a magazine before. I wouldn’t say that the prospect of turning around a magazine from scratch in a couple of months was terrifying. I would, on the other hand, feel safe suggesting that the task was daunting.
Long story short our magazine in all of it’s perfect bound glossy paged glory arrived late last week: Gadsden Style An enormous amount of work in a very short time went into producing the book. Editor Cyndi Nelson kept our feet to the fire and Laura Catoe paginated, designed and I dunno- culled all the fonts, templates and elements out of thin air.
If I may dip into some hyperbole (and since it’s my blog I will) It was a Herculean effort by the entire staff. Everybody pitched in to write, shoot, paginate or just pick up slack. I’m glad we’ve got one issue done- more to come I suppose.
For Gadsden Style, I shot a picture story inside on Collinsville Trade Day, built up the web components, and shot the Cover+ cover story on Rick Bragg inside.
